5D Mini Set
What are Lash Extensions?

Mini Set

Lash Extensions are single strands of synthetic eyelashes that are curved to replicate a natural eyelash. They are individually applied to natural eyelashes to make them look longer and thicker. The look can vary from very natural to extreme.

What type of lash extension is right for me?

Eyelash Extensions are available in a number of lengths and thickness. We will consult with you first to see what type of style you are interested in, then we will determine what your lashes can hold in regards to type and length. The difference between our sets is the number of lashes applied, the duration of the appointment, and the price. The longer the appointment time, the more lashes we are able to apply. A fuller set does not necessary equate to longer and thicker lashes applied, but rather more lashes applied and all this is discussed in the initial consultation.

What is the difference between Classic, Hybrid, 3D, 5D and Russian/Volume lashes?

Classic – is where one thicker extension is applied on to one natural lash.

Hybrid – is a mix of classic lashes and volume lashes. This gives you a slightly fuller look where you may have a patch of lashes not naturally full.

3D & 5D – is where there are either 3 lashes or 5 lashes attached to a single natural lash, they are much finer than classic and will give a full luscious look even on gappy or sparse lashes. As these lashes are feather light, it will give your lashes a soft, fluffy look and still weigh less than one thick extension, hence not damaging to your natural lashes.

Russian/Volume lashes involve a technique from Russia whereby a fan or bouquet of lashes are created using 2, 4, 6 or even 8 ultra fine extension attached to each individual lash, Volume or Russian are created in the appointment. We do not offer this speciality service at this time.

How long does it take to apply the lashes?

This will depend entirely on the style you are after and the amount of lashes being applied. We allow 1.5 to 2.5 hours for your first appointment, and around 1 to 1.5 hours for maintenance but this can vary greatly depending on the look you are after.

How long do eyelash extensions last for?

As each extension is applied to an individual lash, the extensions can last the time period of the natural growth process of the eyelashes, however; as the natural lashes continue to shed and replace themselves at different times, the lashes will look less full after about 2-3 weeks. The longevity of your eyelash extensions are also influenced by many factors including but not limited to; lifestyle, use of makeup products, cleansing routine, skin type, and lash growth cycle. By maintaining them every 2-4 weeks, you can retain the fullness of your lashes indefinitely.

When should I get a refill or a new set?

Your natural eyelashes fall out every 30-60 days due to the natural growth cycle and are naturally replaced with the growth of a new eyelash. After 2 or 3 weeks you will start seeing little gaps where the old ones have fallen, and new ones are coming through – so at this point it’s a good time to get infills, so your lashes always look nice and full.

I’m new to your salon but I already have lashes on, can I get a refill?

As we have no way of knowing what glue or lash type was used on your lashes, so that your natural lashes are not compromised we do not refill other technicians extension work. If you have lashes on from elsewhere we will offer half price removal before your new set is applied.

I’m worried about the glue and having a reaction.

We use only top grade extensions and glue in our services. Anyone with sensitive eyes is welcome to come in for a patch test free of charge

Are eyelash extensions safe and will they damage my natural lashes?

When chosen and applied correctly the eyelash extensions will not harm the health of the natural lashes. To ensure the ongoing health of your lashes, we highly recommend that you take the advice of the technician regarding the maximum thickness and length that would be appropriate long-term for your natural lashes.

Before I get lash Extensions what do I need to do?

Please ensure all traces of eye make-up is removed with an oil-free cleanser before you arrive for your appointment. As you cannot get your eye area wet for 24 hours after the application, it may be a good idea to gym, shower or wash your hair beforehand. If you choose to get your lashes tinted, they must be done a few days prior to the lash appointment. If you have previously received an eye lift treatment, you will need to wait at least 3 months until the extensions can be applied.

Can I wear makeup with my lash Extensions?

Yes, you can. Eyeliner (not waterproof) and eye shadow preferably mineral based. We do not recommend that you apply mascara to your eyelash extensions, as this can cause them to clump together and may contain oils that weaken the adhesive bond on your eyelash extensions, so they will not last as long. We recommend you use an OIL FREE makeup remover, as oil based removers will damage the adhesive and could make the eyelash extensions fall off prematurely

Can I swim, shower, exercise, or visit a spa while wearing Eyelash Extensions?

Yes. In fact this is one of the best things about eyelash extensions. The bonding agent we use is waterproof and allows you to shower, swim, exercise, etc. Special care is required but overall maintenance is low. We do recommend no water to be in contact for the first 24 hours after the eyelash application.

What if I want them removed?

We do offer a service to have the extensions removed involving a short thirty-minute appointment in which we apply a gel remover. The gel remover is applied on top of the extensions without touching the skin and allowed to sit for 10 minutes. Once the adhesive is dissolved the extensions are gently wiped away with lint free applicators exposing the natural lashes.

Aftercare tips.

Following our maintenance guidelines will keep them looking amazing longer.

Avoid getting your new lashes wet for the first 24 hours after application.

Avoid extreme heat, swimming, steam rooms and hot saunas for the next 48 hours.

Do not use oil-based products, eyelash curlers, perm or tint the lash extensions. These will break the bond.

It is vital you keep the lash line clean – ensure you thoroughly cleanse your eye area daily using a foaming cleanser or an oil-free eye makeup remover.

Mascara will dissolve the adhesive, but if you simply must use mascara for a special occasion and such, use only water-based mascara.

Avoid rubbing your eyes and do not attempt to pull off loose lash extensions.

After you shower, gently pat your lashes dry with tissue

Use an eyelash comb to groom any stray lashes, carefully and gently only when needed.

DO NOT attempt to remove your lash extensions yourself.

Let them fall off by themselves or come and let us professionally remove them with a special remover.

I’m still not sure about the extensions, what else do you offer?

We will soon be offering Lash Lifting. It’s a process where your natural lashes are listed and curled to open your eye up. It will last anywhere between 3-6 months depending on your lifestyle. We do not recommend getting lash extensions and a lash lift.

We also offer lash tinting. It will add depth to your lashes but not length and can last 2-4 weeks depending on your lifestyle
